Class

Today we took our handler class. The first part was information like, if you fall let go of the lines and roll. If you don't let go you might get drug by the team. If you don't roll you might get run over by the team.
They explained the lines: Neckline which hooks the dogs to the main/gang line and the tow line which hooks to the dog's harness.
After class we went outside with 7 dogs and practiced holding the lines. The dogs were very calm. Nothing like it will be the next 2 days. The team had never done the Iditarod but they do some lower mileage races. The musher of the team, Shawn, has run the Iditarod 4 times.
He had a dog named Nala on his team. Of course I took to her and gave her a nice rub.
