Today we were at Burke Mountain for their 5th annual sled dog dash. The dash is a race in the Northeast Kingdom. All of the proceeds are to benefit the area to build a rec. center for the community. We have gone to watch the last 2 years and this year decided to race in it! It's actually the biggest sled dog race in the East. There were some very good teams there who are very competitive. There was an 8 dog, 6 dog, 4 dog and 3 dog class. There was also a junior 1 dog, 2 dog and 3 dog class. They also had an open class. One team had 16 dogs. We went to try a new trail and have a new expierence. We were the only Siberian Husky team. All the other teams were Alaskan Huskies (bred for speed). We did not win, we came in last. BUT I'm so proud of our team. They did great on the trail with other teams passing and listened to all the commands! It was also fun to talk to people who came to watch and let them pet our dogs. It was a great expierence.
The pictures follow. Lucia and Petey (our friend's lead dog) were in front. Nala and Lica were in the back.

I am so proud of my nieces! And TED of course!
